Beata's review of the wonderful handbook "Sexuelle Einvernehmlichkeit gestalten" was published in the magazine Kult_Online

"Even with the greatest care and the best intentions, something can go wrong during sexual interaction. [...] This necessarily complicates theories of consensus that assume autonomous subjects with a transparent ego core and misjudge sex as a coherent, sovereign and rationally navigable experience. [For this reason] Maria Dahlhoff distinguishes a 'sphere of sexual consent' from a 'sphere of sexual assault'. [...] Boundary violations are conceived as part of the consensual sphere. They are called 'consent accidents' as long as they are not intended and those involved take responsibility as they learn. If, on the other hand, no consequences are drawn, the act is repeated, acts with urgency, manipulation or coercion, so that only defense or toleration remain as reactions, according to Dalhoff, these are non-consensual acts of violence in the sphere of encroachment."
