We are currently seeking a
Assistant for Production and Event Administration
for a part-time position (20–40%)
LUHMEN D’ARC is a label dedicated to the production and presentation of various cultural events and educational formats, including community events and workshops, talks and lectures, as well as performances and installations. Innovative and experimental, practical as well as theoretical, we explore bodies, intimacy, and emotions, as well as the diversity of sexualities, pleasure, displeasure, and desire. We favor critical perspectives and cultural studies approaches, and we draw inspiration from the outreach and reflection strategies of the performing arts and their participatory forms. We collaborate with people from the fields of cultural studies and the humanities, with choreographers, performers, and visual artists, as well as with body workers, sex workers, and specialists from the so-called sex-positive and BDSM communities.
We are a small label looking to further expand the diversity and scope of our work. As a result, our work requires an increasing amount of organizational and administrative effort. We are seeking a Production and Event Administration Assistant for a long-term position (at least 1 year).
The variety of tasks:
– Support would be appreciated in the following areas. The specific responsibilities will be defined in consultation with the respective applicant and depending on the workload. –
Comprehensive organizational and administrative support for events
(planning, preparation, execution, follow-up)Development of the Digital Office Infrastructure and Workflow
Communication and Collaboration with Partners and Guests
Communication with event attendees and interested parties
Ticketing & Event Billing
Invoicing, accounting, and controlling tasks
Web Content Management for the Squarespace Website and Social Media
Marketing Coordination - Email, Social Media, and Print (if applicable)
Creating and Sending Newsletters and Informational Emails
Most of the tasks can be done remotely
Requirements:
We welcome people who are interested in and have experience with our topics—and who are also interested in participating in our events themselves and/or hosting them.
Otherwise, it would be desirable to:
Experience with production and administrative work in the cultural and events sector
Very strong general organizational and administrative skills
Working independently => Maintaining an overview, identifying tasks, and independently initiating and keeping processes running
Proactive communication skills within the team, with partners and guests, and especially with event attendees
Excel—at least a basic knowledge of the program is required; training will be provided
Squarespace—experience preferred; training is required
Willingness to learn how to use an accounting and invoicing program; the well-known Swiss program Bexio may be implemented—experience with Bexio is a plus!
Experience with social media marketing—tools and strategies—is a plus
German, very good written German => Proofreading skills
English—not necessarily excellent, but fluent in both spoken and written English for communicating with partners, guests, and event attendees
Less experienced individuals will have the opportunity to get up to speed and gain hands-on experience with event planning and some administrative tools. More experienced individuals are warmly invited to contribute their expertise and ideas, and to help shape and further develop the processes and the label.
Working hours:
Initially about 10 hours, increasing to a maximum of 16 hours per week in the future
especially on weekdays, preferably 2–3 hours a day
Compensation:
If you live in Switzerland:
Gross hourly wage starting at CHF 27.50
=> Monthly salary for 10 hours per week: CHF 1,100
If you live in Germany:
Gross hourly wage starting at EUR 19
=> Monthly salary for 10 hours per week: 760
Pay raises are provided after the training period and for long-term employees, as well as a 13th month’s salary.
If working hours exceed 10 hours per week, partial compensation through participation in events is also a possibility for those interested.
As a cultural events label, LUHMEN D’ARC is, in principle, a nonprofit organization: our broad and diverse program is currently only possible because all participants clearly prioritize artistic content over financial interests. We are aware that our proposed compensation—which is negotiable only to a limited extent—is relatively low. We are working to change this as the label continues to develop.
