This event is part of the series CRITICAL FRIDAYS. Here, the outdated separation of body, mind and soul is dispensed with and instead questions are asked about embodied cognition and the cognitive powers of the somatic. The focus is on the body as a medium for artistic and ritual practices. We create dialogs with experts from the fields of science, art and care work. Performances, workshops, readings and film screenings serve as a starting point for joint reflections in which an arc is drawn between closeness and distance, between personal experiences and avant-garde cultural theories.
Michaël Reinhold's personas are loud, playful, sometimes more animal and sometimes more child. With a precise eye, Reinhold captures social patterns of speech and action that cover up taboos and uncomfortable feelings and appropriates this physical knowledge through his performances. Sometimes he imitates social patterns, sometimes he exaggerates them to the point of being unbearable. He has developed a multitude of different characters and with them their life stories and worlds, populating them with personal and collective details. He now carries their traces within him and alternately offers them space in his performances. Or do they perhaps seize the space on the surface all by themselves? As part of Critical Fridays, Reinhold brings all of his art figures with him and, in dialog with them, takes us to the edges of social conventions and into our discomfort. In the self-help group of Anonymous Performers, they ask themselves whether healing and reintegration into society is even possible for them.
