This is a hiking trip with our horses. We walk the entire route on foot alongside them, and they accompany us throughout the week.
You’ll receive an introduction to natural horsemanship from the ground up and have plenty of opportunities to connect with the horses—for example, by riding bareback, bathing with them, or simply spending time together outdoors. There’s plenty of room to get to know the horses, their communication, and their subtle way of relating to the world, and to learn from them.
This trip offers a special opportunity to build a genuine connection with the horses, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Pyrenees, and immerse yourself deeply in nature.
It is a wonderful experience for anyone who enjoys spending time with horses and wants to discover a new, mindful way of connecting with them.
In addition, our program as currently planned includes, among other things:
Introduction to Natural Horsemanship, vision circle, dance, massage workshop, connection and interaction games, horse massage, swimming, sharing circles, bathing with the horses, singing, tantra workshop, meditation with the horses, bareback riding (riding without a saddle), oil ritual, group celebrations, and short rides.
The starting point is Andreas Hölderle’s farm. From there, we’ll begin our journey, hike through beautiful landscapes, and camp out in nature.
Meals are vegetarian—and vegan upon request—and take food allergies into account.
During the day, we go on hikes with the horses. The workshops and group sessions take place either before or after the hikes.
The stages have been deliberately chosen to be pleasant and manageable, rather than physically challenging. This way, everyone can participate at a relaxed pace and enjoy the trip.
All activities are optional and can be attended at your own discretion—with the exception of the introduction to natural horsemanship, which is required for all participants.
Plus, there’s plenty of time to just relax, spend time together, and enjoy the special atmosphere—for example, around a campfire under a starry sky.
Getting There:
By car => We also have a Telegram group for the trip to organize carpools.
By plane => The best options are Girona, Barcelona (Spain), or Toulouse (France). A good option is to rent a car at the airport and drive to Les Baillessats (2 to 3 hours).
By train => It's best to go as far as Perpignan. From the train station in Perpignan, there's a bus to St. Paul-de-Fenouillet for €2. We can also arrange a pickup in St. Paul-de-Fenouillet. (Note: There's no bus on Sundays.)
