The devil is in the details. No matter how many tantra courses we book, how many sex tips we read, how much we shape our bodies – lovemaking can still suck because we are missing the very small and simple delights. The focus on big spectacles – on perfect bondage skills or squirting-guarantees – can sometimes even distract from intimacy and rather serve to hide behind it. In this workshop we will explore the micro-pleasures of seduction, because sometimes a special look is enough to enchant and delight somebody…. We will also exchange radically honestly about what good loving means for us – and whether feeling safe and at home as a basis for arousal is a state that paradoxically unfolds if we leave us and each other alone with all of this optimization mania of wanting to become a better lover…
A workshop of the Xplore Berlin Festival
The Xplore Festival...
… is a three-day immersive event with a focus on the sexual body and sexuality as artistic expression.
… offers more than 60 workshops, happenings, performances and lectures at the intersection between art and sexuality, as well as three curated play spaces for individual experiences.
… hosts a wide range of presenters who play with, work with, and explore the phenomenon of sexuality. Individuals who have developed powerful techniques and rituals on their way. These forms and expressions are as varied as sexuality itself. Some are therapeutic in nature, some emerge from aesthetic intentions, others are searches for borderline experiences. Many of them just aim for pure pleasure. Their common ground is playfulness, communication, creativity. They expand sexuality beyond pornographic stereotypes, heteronormativity and the traditional couple relationship. They represent a different sexual culture. They are art with body and soul.
… displays a social field with a dramatically different code of communication: Honesty and directness, empathy and kindness are the norm.
… is an idea of the choreographer and conceptual artist Felix Ruckert and takes places annually in Berlin, Germany since 2004. Currently there are also annual editions in Roma and Barcelona.
