The Japanese art of bondage is a fascinating body practice. Shibari has much in common with dance, yoga and meditation and offers a wide range of intense physical, mental and emotional experiences. This makes rope bondage probably one of the most diverse and, in its performative and aesthetic dimension, also one of the most visually appealing practices in the field of BDSM. Increasingly, shibari is also being perceived beyond the erotic scene as an art form in its own right.

This workshop focuses on the basics of tying up with ropes in the Japanese style. In addition to basic and improvisation techniques, classical patterns and the various safety aspects, we will also look at body awareness and posture, as well as interaction and communication between the partners. In doing so, we discover how the bound and the bound can shape their encounter in many ways, in trusting play with power and submission, in empathic communication and mutual surrender, in deep connection and intensity.

The course, which begins on Friday—see SHIBARI BASICS – INTRO DAY —is also suitable for beginners. It’s also possible to book just Friday as a trial day. Those who already know the basics can start on Saturday instead. And it’s possible to attend only Friday and Saturday.

FURTHER INFORMATION

NOTES ON THE EVENT

Singles, couples, and all other types of relationships are welcome to sign up.

We’ll be switching roles—that is, the exercises will be repeated so that all participants get to experience both tying and being tied up. Couples who do not wish to switch roles may remain in their assigned roles. Please let us know when you register if this applies to you.

The goals of our events are collaborative learning within the group, supporting shared processes, and personal development. Couples and all other types of partnerships or arrangements are welcome, but you should be aware and open to the fact that the courses are not designed as partnership experiences and that we address each person as an individual. For example: To ensure that all participants are equally included, we usually work with randomly assigned partner combinations during the exercises. This means that there will be both same-sex and opposite-sex pairings. Participants should generally be open to working with any person and any body. Exceptions can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Gender identity, sexual orientation, age, etc., are not criteria for registration or participant selection.
We expect you to act with care, be communicative, consent-oriented, and mindful, and we encourage you to respect your own boundaries and take personal responsibility.
Hate speech will not be tolerated. Please bring “Candy Speech” with you.
We reserve the right to ask participants to leave the workshop if their behavior is harmful or overly problematic, and we reserve the right to do so without explanation—though we will likely try to explain our decision. Workshop fees would then be refunded in full. Any further claims are excluded.
We do our best to accommodate different needs, but our resources are limited. Please contact us if you have any questions.

You can read more about this topic here.

COVID-19 REGULATIONS & PROCEDURES / COVID-19 RULES & PROCEDURES

The 2G+ rule currently applies to all of our events. Only people who can provide a valid certificate proving that they are fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19—and who have also recently tested negative—may attend. Why? Currently, in Switzerland, public sporting and cultural events are subject to a general requirement for a COVID certificate as well as the 2G rule—that is, the requirement to prove with an official COVID certificate that one is either vaccinated or has recovered from COVID-19—and there is also a general requirement to wear a mask. The mask requirement may be waived if an event implements the 2G+ rule—that is, if access is restricted to people who are fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19 and have also recently tested negative, and who can present a corresponding certificate. A recent negative test result does not need to be presented if it can be verified that the full vaccination, booster shot, or recovery occurred less than 4 months ago. We do not consider wearing masks at our events to be practical, which is why we have opted for the 2G+ rule.

Therefore, please attend our events only with valid certificates that confirm your 2G+ status. Anyone who does not have one and/or cannot present it at the event will be turned away.

For events where masks are not required, the authorities mandate that the contact information of all participants be collected for the purpose of contact tracing, if necessary. This information is collected when tickets are booked through Eventfrog and is required for both ticket booking and event attendance. The collected data will be deleted 14 days after the event.

Attendees are also asked to notify the event organizer as soon as possible if they experience symptoms typical of COVID-19 or test positive for SARS-CoV-2 within 10 days of the event.

These regulations are in line with the currently applicable measures announced by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health. This list of measures is frequently updated depending on the pandemic situation. We, too, will adjust our regulations accordingly as needed.
