ROPUNAWA’s KINBAKU THURSDAYS – ADVANCED ROPE BONDAGE AT SIHL13

  • sihl13 – Zurich 13 Lessingstrasse Zurich, ZH, 8002 Switzerland (Map)

Model: Freya Hellesdim

Attention! This event is part of the series ROPUNAWA'S KINBAKU THURSDAYS, which begins on October 13, 2022, and can only be booked as a whole series, not as individual events. Bookings will no longer be accepted after October 13.

RopuNawa is coming to Zurich!

Over the past few years, the bondage artist from Basel has become one of the best-known riggers on the European scene, and his performances and workshops have made him a welcome guest at various bondage festivals and venues across the continent.

Starting in mid-October, he will be returning to Zurich every two weeks to lead an intensive five-evening workshop designed to help local bondage enthusiasts—who have already mastered the basics and are serious about taking their skills to the next level—reach an advanced level.

In his classes, RopuNawa shares his personal philosophy of bondage. He strengthens the participants’ existing foundation by placing greater emphasis on the details of the basics and works with them to develop a deeper understanding of floor and partial suspension work as a prerequisite for later moving on to suspension bondage. Participants are tied to bamboo poles, not to rings.

In addition to technique and safety knowledge—which are essential prerequisites for longer, exciting bondage sessions and for preventing accidents—the course also explores connections to Japanese culture and various aesthetic concepts. It also covers various play dynamics and the conscious handling of the emotional aspects of rope bondage. All of this is put into practice through the classic and contemporary tying patterns of RopuNawa’s signature fusion style, which he teaches as part of the course.

Each session includes 2.5 to 3 hours of instruction and about an hour of free-form tying to practice what you’ve learned and integrate it into your own practice with Ropunawa’s guidance.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT

The goals of our events are collaborative learning within the group, supporting shared processes, and personal development. Couples and all other types of partnerships or group dynamics are welcome, but you should be aware and open to the fact that the courses are not designed as partnership experiences and that we address each person as an individual. For example: To involve all participants equally, we usually work with random partner combinations during the exercises. This means that both same-sex and opposite-sex combinations will occur. Participants should generally be open to working with every person and every body. Exceptions can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Gender identity, sexual orientation, age or membership of often marginalized groups such as BBIPoC, migrants, refugees, LGBTQIA*, disabled people, etc. are not criteria when registering and selecting participants. This means that, in principle, everyone is equally welcome and we endeavor to do justice to the respective constellation and different needs, but our resources are limited. If you have any questions in this regard, please contact us.

We expect you to act with care, be communicative, prioritize consent, and be mindful, and we encourage you to respect your own boundaries and take personal responsibility.
Hate speech will not be tolerated. Please bring "Candy Speech."
We reserve the right to ask participants to leave the workshop if their behavior is hurtful or problematic, and we reserve the right to do so without explanation—though we will likely try to explain. Workshop fees would then be refunded in full. Any further claims are excluded.
