Take a seat, get comfortable, and enjoy an inspiring evening with your friends 🥂

Inspired by the legendary “Bimbo Factory’s Housewarming Party,” this workshop transforms people who identify as men into chairs, lamps, rugs, sofas, tables, coat racks, and much more.
In the first part of the workshop, we’ll explore the art of objectification. Together, we’ll discover how men+ (see below) can fully embody their very own inner piece of furniture. In addition, each participant will design a care label explaining how visitors may use the piece of furniture and which interactions are expressly prohibited. You decide for yourself whether you’re a luxurious designer piece that’s cherished, polished, and admired—and that perhaps no one will sit on unless it’s wrapped in plastic. Or whether you’re more like bulky trash: wobbly, in need of replacement, worth a good scrub, hidden under a decorative blanket, or old and stiff—so that you sometimes get stuck and need a little nudge to work again. The FLINTA* participants will guide and support you through this entire creative process.
The second part of the evening features a stylish house party where our newly created pieces of furniture will be put to use. House rules and consensus-building will be explained at the beginning.

*Women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, and agender people who will be our guests this evening: If possible, please come dressed in an elegant outfit, such as you would wear to a cocktail party. It can be—but doesn't have to be—a kinky outfit.✨

Men, intersex, non-binary, and agender people who will be our “furniture” this evening: Bring along everything that helps you feel comfortable and stay energized: knee pads, comfortable, clean clothing, a meditation practice, and props that aesthetically enhance your transformation—for example, a tablecloth, a lampshade, etc.

There will be snacks, drinks to toast with, and safe sex supplies. Other than that, it’s best to bring your own water bottle and anything else you’ll need that evening to get in the mood and feel comfortable.

Depending on the instructions on the care labels and in accordance with safe-sex practices, there may be nudity as well as kinky or sexual interactions. However, the workshop can also be experienced in a purely practical and non-sexual way. The workshop will also cover which types of interactions can be conducted safely.

Smartphones are not allowed in the event room, and no photos may be taken. Outdoor shoes are not permitted. You are welcome to be barefoot or wear socks.

Anyone who disregards others’ boundaries or initiates unwanted interactions will be excluded from the event. This is a “Braver Safer Space” —a space designed to promote safety while placing greater emphasis on personal responsibility. Please note that the entire event lasts only about three hours—there’s so much more we could explore in detail regarding safety, creativity, artistry, dominance, and submission, etc.! However, a longer workshop is already in the works...

Sexual orientation is not a determining factor for participation.

Role Assignment: Cis men, trans men, and nonbinary or agender people may take on the role of the furniture. Cis women, trans women, lesbians, and nonbinary or agender people are invited to use the furniture. Nonbinary people are free to decide which role they would like to take on.

BEATA

Beate Absalon is a cultural theorist with a background in various somatic disciplines. In her work, she explores the ambivalence of modern sexual cultures. She has held research fellowships at various institutions for cultural studies and is pursuing a Ph.D. on practices of negotiating consensual sex. In 2024, she published her non-fiction book
>> Not Giving a Fuck: On Unenthusiastic Sex & Sexless Pleasure—Overcoming Social Pressure and Finding Vibrant Intimacy (Kremayr & Scheriau). In it, she argues that the pressure to have “great” sex can be confidently shaken off, while a curious and benevolent attitude toward lack of desire, shame, boredom, “dry spells,” feminist celibacy, or asexuality can open up exciting new forms of intimacy. She is currently training to become a couples and sex therapist. As a psychosocial counselor and workshop leader, she believes in the power of eroticism—which often reveals itself most clearly in moments of “failure.” Her practice promotes self-determination and invites people to engage with themselves with greater sincerity as well as more playfulness.

REBECCA FRANCES

She studied languages at the University of Cambridge and now explores how the body communicates. As a coach, yoga teacher, and breath therapist, she explores how to lead a fulfilling and joyful life despite the inevitability of crises, illness, limitations, pain, and grief. She has completed training in Sexological Bodywork at the ISB Berlin, as well as over 600 hours of massage, breathwork, and bodywork training (David Lutt, Thai Massage Circus, Kaline Kelly, Daniel Odier, Martin Beaudoin), over 400 hours of RYT yoga teacher training (Surinder Ji, Lizzie and Judith Lasater, Rajiv Chanchani), has experience studying tantric massage, conscious sexual practices, and BDSM, and is an advanced student of Taoist practices. In addition, she explores philosophical and poetic approaches to the somatic. In her practical, creative, and experimental physical exercises, she draws on her intellectual background and professional interests to further investigate exactly what happens when bodies touch—and why we either want that so much or don’t want it at all.

NOTES ON THE EVENT

The goals of our events are collaborative learning within the group, supporting shared processes, and personal development. Couples and all other types of partnerships or relationships are welcome, but you should be aware and open to the fact that the courses are not designed as partnership experiences and that we address each person as an individual. For example: To ensure that all participants are equally involved, we usually work with randomly assigned partner combinations during the exercises. This means there will be both same-gender and mixed-gender pairings. Participants should generally be open to working with any person and any body. Exceptions can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or membership in marginalized groups such as BBIPoC, migrants, refugees, LGBTQIA*, people with disabilities, etc., are not criteria for registration or participant selection.

We expect you to act with care, be communicative, prioritize consent, and be mindful, and we encourage you to respect your own boundaries and take personal responsibility.
Hate speech will not be tolerated. Please bring “Candy Speech” with you.
We reserve the right to ask participants to leave the workshop if their behavior is harmful or problematic, and we reserve the right to do so without explanation—although we will likely try to explain our decision. Workshop fees would then be refunded in full. Any further claims are excluded.
We do our best to accommodate different needs, but our resources are limited. Please contact us if you have any questions.

You can read more about this topic here.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations are free of charge up to eight weeks before the course begins; up to four weeks before the course begins, a cancellation fee of 20% of the course fee applies; and up to two weeks before the course begins, a cancellation fee of 50% applies. Later cancellations and refunds of participant fees are not possible. However, participants may find replacement participants to take their reserved spots. There are no special provisions for non-attendance due to illness. We recommend looking into ticket insurance options—just Google “ticket insurance,” “Ergo,” “Hanse-Merkur,” or similar terms. In general, we strive to find reasonable solutions in such cases. Please contact us via private message if necessary. If the organizer cancels the course, the full course fee will be refunded. No further claims are permitted.
