TAMANDUA & BRIKI
Tamandua is a full-time professional kinbaku artist and instructor—based in Berlin and invited internationally to teach his refined style of rope bondage.
“I have a passionately sadistic streak and a deep love for the aesthetic world of kinbaku.
Since my shibari often involves techniques that can be challenging for both the person tying and the person being tied, it usually requires a high degree of technical precision when I’m teaching. Despite this, I believe it’s still important to leave room for personal adaptation and creativity.
I see kinbaku as an ongoing journey of discovery—where new doors open as you go deeper and further with a partner, whether over the course of a single session or a long-term relationship. Sometimes, though, the magic that defines kinbaku can be just that one alluring image that stays with you, a moment frozen in time.
“For me, the essence of kinbaku lies in the intersection of aesthetic expression and the emotional or erotic intent behind the practice. And the more one’s tying skills develop, the more seamlessly these elements can blend together.”

Briki: “I am a rope bottom and a rope switch with a deep understanding of the body, rooted in yoga and my work as a contemporary dancer. For the past few years, I have been working at the intersection of performance art and the rope community.”
"In the role of the bound, I long for sublime states of liminality and the beauty of extremes. My passion for rope bondage centers on the dynamic between me and my partner—the exchange of power, and the point where the erotic and the aesthetic converge. I am often drawn to the complexity of submission, objectification, and suffering. I am also interested in bottomhood—the practical knowledge developed by the person being tied and how to care for the body throughout life."
