QUEER BONDAGE JAM ZURICH – Pervertibles: Recycling as a Kink – with a Newbie Intro

Bondage games all too often take on heteronormative forms—which is fine, but we want to explore how we can get creative and experience something completely different for a change. Queering—as a verb—represents the joy of a whole spectrum of: questioning, refreshing, making visible, playing, unsettling, celebrating, experimenting, fluidifying, encouraging, expanding, inventing, showing solidarity, mixing, standing by oneself, appropriating, becoming, transforming... At the QUEER BONDAGE JAMS, we therefore want to give creativity more space in general by…

OUT OF THE BOX – A SENSORY DELIGHT

  • IKSK – Institute for Body Research and Sexual Culture – Berlin (Map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

In Sensory Treat —the second part of the Out Of The Box workshop series—we focus entirely on the sensory experiences of our bodies: seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, and tasting. These five senses guide us through the course, suggesting a progression of closeness in this order—for while we can see one another from a great distance, we can only taste with unparalleled immediacy. In all of this, we draw inspiration from the concept of Shoshin, the beginner’s mind—a term from Zen Buddhism that refers to an inner attitude of openness, curiosity, and the soothing absence of preconceptions or judgments. In this attitude of not knowing and not being familiar with, we rediscover our senses together, as if we were experiencing the amazing sensory capabilities of our bodies for the first time.

DAVID BLOOM: CHOREOGRAPHY OF DESIRE - EXPLORING THE SPACE BETWEEN

Desire never emerges in a vacuum, but rather intersubjectively, in the space between people, filled with history and complexity. In this workshop, we will bring our attention to the difference between having a particular taste, fantasy, or fetish - and projecting that onto another person, or people - and allowing desires and relations to emerge through observing, listening, and receiving. The space between us, so present and compulsory in this age affected by a global pandemic, is reimagined as a space of possibility and magic.

SHIBARI BASICS – PARTIAL SUSPENSION

In Japanese-style bondage, there is a technique called suspension bondage, in which the bound person is hoisted up and suspended using ropes attached to a hook on the ceiling or a beam. While this technique is physically demanding and looks spectacular, it also offers a unique sensory experience, which we will explore in this course through partial suspensions. We will teach the basic technical knowledge and, through various exercises and bondage patterns, explore the restrictive, playful, and aesthetic potential of this form…
