(AN)OTHER INTIMACY - SPACE FOR CONSCIOUS & PLAYFUL ENCOUNTERS

Intimacy that breaks free from set patterns and conventions is fantastic, creative, and unpredictable—that’s what makes it so appealing, but also quite complex and challenging. In (AN)OTHER INTIMACY, we want to take this risk! What’s there to experience? How do I come up with ideas? How do I figure out what my deep needs and desires are? And how do I put them into practice? What do I definitely not want—and how do I communicate between “Yes!” and “No”? The workshop aims to give participants an idea of what a playful & alternative “sex-positive” space could be, how we can create it together…

RETHINKING CONSENT - CRITICAL VIEWS & PERSPECTIVES

In sex-positive spaces, high expectations are placed on consent exercises—but how disappointing it is to admit that they don’t live up to their promises either! In recent years, progressive feminist discourses have increasingly voiced criticism of consent concepts—“Consent is a necessary floor—but a terrible ceiling”—since they often fail to do justice to the complexity of intimate encounters or serve the cause of free sex… Sometimes they even backfire. But what, then, should we do to finally put an end to a culture of sexual assault? That is what we would like to explore together in this workshop.

QUEER BONDAGE JAM ZURICH – PLAYFUL FLYTIME WITH AERIAL OBJECTS – featuring a Newbie Intro

Bondage games all too often take on heteronormative forms—which is fine, but we want to explore how we can get creative and experience something completely different for a change. Queering—as a verb—represents the joy of a whole spectrum of: questioning, refreshing, making visible, playing, unsettling, celebrating, experimenting, fluidifying, encouraging, expanding, inventing, showing solidarity, mixing, standing by oneself, appropriating, becoming, transforming... At the QUEER BONDAGE JAMS, we therefore want to give creativity more space in general by…

ORAL MAPPING & DIRTY TALK + + + playSPACE

After drawing inspiration primarily from existing texts at the previous day’s CRITICAL FRIDAY: PASSIONATE FICTION – LITERARY PORNOLOGY—and perhaps taking tentative first steps with our own pornographic linguistic experiments—we want to take things up a notch in this workshop and approach the whole thing from a very practical angle. DIY! :) In the first part, we’ll engage—hands-on in partner work!—in tactile explorations of our vocal apparatus, the…

SHANTALA HUMMLER & THOMAS TRAUPMANN: PASSIONATE FICTION – LITERARY PORNOLOGY

SHANTALA HUMMLER & THOMAS TRAUPMANN: PASSIONATE FICTION – LITERARY PORNOLOGY

Shantala Hummler and Thomas Traupmann have pornographic literature read aloud and invite us to examine its poetic techniques more closely: How metaphorical can literary pornography be, or how explicit must it be? What devices does it employ to affect us as readers? How graphic or obscene are these texts? To what extent do they programmatically test the limits of what is acceptable? The history of modern pornography should also be made visible as a genuinely literary history. Together, we want to reflect on the relevance and the traditions of contemporary portrayals of the pornographic. In this way, we aim to explore styles of writing, narrative forms, and figurations, as well as the political dimension of the pornographic in literature.
